Anthony Coleman has performed and recorded throughout the world, including a recent tour of Europe with his new trio, Professionales, featuring Brad Jones and Roberto Rodriguez. His other projects include the piano trio Sephardic Tinge and Selfhaters Orchestra. He has been commissioned by the Crosstown Ensemble, Bang on a Can All-Stars/Jerome Foundation, Neta Pulvermacher and Dancers/Meet the Composer, Aspen Woodwind Quintet and David Krakauer/Concert Artists Guild. His most recent release is Shmutsige Magnaten: Coleman Plays Gebirtig, a solo piano interpretation of the music of Polish-Jewish songwriter and composer Mordechai Gebirtig. Coleman's other major projects have included by Night, a series of pieces based on experiences in the ex-Yugoslavia, and the duo Lobster and Friend with saxophonist Roy Nathanson. Coleman teaches Contemporary Improvisation, jazz studies and composition at the New England Conservatory.
